“Can we go walk Bella?” I asked Mrs. Pam. “Sure” she said. She needs to get all of that out of her system anyway. Ok!
So Lauren, Katie, and I went outside to walk Bella, their dog. When we were out there Katie asked, “how much longer it would be until Bella has her puppies?” “ Well we don’t really know until it happens”, I said. Ok.
When we got back inside Bella was getting back in her tub where she was going to have her puppies. Katie and I had seen something wet on the ground, and we had just thought that she went to the bathroom again. So we told Mrs. Pam. Then Mrs. Pam asked Katie had been sitting when she did that. Katie said no.
After that Mrs. Pam called the vet and asked them what that meant. They said that it was probably her water breaking. After she got off the phone she had told us that.
We started screaming because we were so happy it finally happened, also because we had been up all night waiting for Bella to have her puppies, and she never did.
It was about an hour later when Mrs. Pam called the vet again. She had called to see how long it would take after her water broke that she would have the puppies. The vet said about an hour to two hours.
About 5 minutes after Mrs. Pam got off the phone with the vet, Bella started preparing to have her 1st puppy. It had been about 5 more minutes and Bella had still not had her 1st puppy yet. Mrs. Pam said that we were probably making her nervous, so we went and sat in the living room.
About 1 minute later the 1st puppy popped out and it was in a sack. When Bella ate the sack off of it, it was brown. It was cute but not fluffy, more like wet, gross, and nasty. Bella was very protective of her 1st baby, but after the 2nd she was so tired she did not care what we did with her babies.
After the 2nd baby she had 11 more. We were so excited we had seen a real live birth. It was such a good experience. I learned that good things take time.
